Governance

Our Governance course offers a comprehensive understanding of responsible resource management. Participants will delve into principles of good governance and accountability, citizenry rights, roles and responsibilities (3Rs) and effective  tools such as Public Expenditure Tracking Surveys(PETS) Social Accountability Monitoring (SAM) and PIMA Card. This course equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to advocate for equitable distribution and responsible utilization of valuable resources.

At Accountability Tanzania, we understand the significance of hands-on experience. Alongside theoretical learning, students engage in practical exercises, case studies, and field visits to observe resource in action. Our course structure ensures that you not only grasp the principles but also witness them in real-world contexts.

Course Outline:

1. Citizenry rights, roles and responsibilities (3Rs): Laying the Groundwork
2. Transparency and anti-corruption: Negative impacts of corruption, UN framework to tackle corruption and anti -corruption mechanism.
3. Relation between public and non-stake actors: non state actor accountability, 
4. Resource governance tools: Public Expenditure Tracking Surveys (PETS), Social Accountability Monitoring (SAM).
5. Community Resource Rights: Empowering the Grassroots
6. Transparency and Accountability: The Pillars of Good Governance
7. Sustainable Resource Governance Practices: From Theory to Action.

Learning outcome 

by the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Have better understanding of different types of governance, citizenry rights, roles and responsibilities.

  • Critically analyze the role of accountability and audit systems.
  • Well informed about how to monitor/track public resources and dialogue to duty bearers for improving community projects.
